DocWood began his photographic work in the sixties as a college student working for Wayne Book Photography in southern California. Since then he has maintained an ongoing interest in photography and has done commercial work for IBM, The Sheraton Washington and others. Mostly, his work is personal and aesthetic. In the last several years his photography has garnered first place accolades in several exhibits in Rhode Island.
As you can tell by the structure of this web site, I find “shared” photographic experiences to be an important part of my life. I am lucky, my photographic partners include my wife Judi (whose good friend Sandy Loeber is included as one of our artists), my good friend Joe Miller (who is both web master and a fine photographer and painter), and the Four Foto Friends (David Pincus, Rick Knapp, Bruce Burtch and myself). A last but not least pleasure is that my youngest son David married a wonderful woman, Amy, who is a gifted photographer (David’s no slouch either when it comes to photography). As you can see, for me, photography is both an individualistic artistic expression and friendship.
